Bolton, Ontario- The Canadian Black Belt Academy and the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy will present a Free "Women's Self Defense Seminar" Saturday September 30th from 2:30pm-4:00pm
The Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy and the CBBA is proud to bring the “Womens Self Defense” Seminar to Bolton and surrounding ares. The free program is aimed at teaching practical strategies for identifying and dealing with aggression toward women that is specially tailored for women.
“We live in a society where violence towards women, both verbally and physically is increasing, and we believe that no other industry is better equipped to end this trend than the martial arts. Women will not only learn physical defense strategies against common scenarios, but the program is also meant to empower women and to assist them in attaining the confidence necessary to defend themselves" says Jason Figliano, owner/head instructor of the Canadian Black Belt Academy and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Bolton. "We hope you’ll come out and see for yourself".
David Gonzalez is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Jason Figliano is the only Certified Instructor in the G.R.A.C.I.E Certification course for Law enforcement in Canada. Through working with survivors of sexual assault alongside various law enforcement agencies, the program has identified the most common attack strategies that a male assailant is likely to use on a woman. From hair-grabs and choke-holds, to bear hugs and more, we will cover the basics of self defense to help keep our community safe.
To sign up for the program please contact the academy at 905.857.4600.
The Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy-Bolton is
